Our client is a development firm that has been in business for 25+ years with a focus on utility-scale projects. Headquartered in California, they cover solar, storage, and wind projects throughout MISO, ERCOT, and PJM. Their company is made up of around 40-50 employees and employees.

Job Description

Seeking a Development Manager to be responsible for:
  • Managing the execution of development for utility scale renewable energy projects from greenfield to NTP
  • Collaborate with engineering team and external consultants to evaluate site layouts and constraints, technology options, schedule implications, interconnection applications and studies
  • Direct and conduct due diligence on development-stage project and portfolio acquisitions, including comparison and prioritisation of multiple opportunities based on common siting and permitting
  • Manage external stakeholders supporting environmental assessment campaigns
  • Manage external stakeholders supporting property and sales tax abatement efforts
  • Manage occasional permitting activities with support from other team members
  • Prepare project budgets, schedules, and RFP responses

The Successful Applicant
  • Minimum of (4) year's experience in the development of renewable energy projects in solar, storage, and/or wind
  • Impressive track record and experience with land development: landowner engagement, and negotiation/contracting, title resolution, agricultural land use/water restrictions
  • Knowledge of governmental mandates, environmental regulations or customer/market signals that impact or facilitate new development of renewable projects
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, multi-task, make decisions, prioritize, and meet assigned deadlines in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills - able to work and communicate effectively with a cross-functional internal team, vendors, consultants, various project stakeholders, authorities having legal control, utilities, state agencies etc.
  • Bachelor's degree is required
