Reporting to: Regional Vice President

Your role and responsibilities

The Sales Development Leader will work closely with the largest players in the industry, building long-term relationships with key stakeholders, securing ABB ELIP products as the preferred solution, and helping drive the profitability growth of the business. This role involves visiting end-user customers and decision makers to understand their needs, applications, and specify ABB's products in critical verticals. The successful candidate will execute the market plan, report progress, and maintain contact with sales and marketing leadership.

This is a remote position, ideally based in the New Orleans or Baton Rouge, LA metro areas. The role contributes to the Electrification Installation Products division in the Gulf District. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Market Analysis: Understand customer needs, propose solutions from the ABB ELIP portfolio, and support sales in market penetration. Research market trends and provide intelligence to identify new opportunities.
  2. Customer Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships to ensure satisfaction and business growth.
  3. Specification Development: Develop relationships with contractors, end-users, OEMs, and decision makers to achieve product specifications and increase orders.
  4. Training: Provide technical and CEU training to stakeholders internally and externally.
  5. Sales Strategy: Collaborate internally to implement commercial strategies and meet sales targets within the district.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA in business, marketing, engineering, or related fields.
  • 5+ years in technical specification/product marketing in the electrical industry.
  • Proven success in customer/business development and strong customer relations skills.
  • Ability to understand and apply product portfolio solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 50%.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US for ABB.
