Position Overview

As our Senior Buyer, you will play a vital role in the procurement process by working with a team of buyers to source, negotiate and purchase goods and services for the organization. You will be responsible for ensuring that the procurement activities align with the company's goals and objectives, while also maintaining efficient and cost-effective purchasing procedures.

Key Areas of Responsibility

• Receives and reviews requesting goods or services
• Communicates with vendors to obtain product or service information, such as price, availability, and delivery schedule
• Expedites orders and requests as needed
• Estimates values according to knowledge of market price
• Determines method of procurement, such as direct purchase or bid
• Prepares purchase orders or bid requests
• Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority
• Maintains procurement records, such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories
• Keeps abreast of market trends, changes in business practices in the assigned markets, new or altered types of materials entering the market, etc.
• Work with manufacturers or persuade potential vendors to undertake the manufacturing of custom-designed items according to user's specific needs and specifications
• May approve invoices for payment; May expedite delivery of goods to users

Position Compensation

• Competitive salary commensurate with experience of $72-82K

Requirements:
Position Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Economics, or related field Preferred
• Must have at least 5 years of procurement experience in a manufacturing environment
• Proficient with ERP Software, Oracle preferred
• Advanced understanding of procurement processes, supply chain operations, and current market trends as well as negotiations, strategic sourcing, bidding, and contracting
• Proven analytical, cost analysis, and problem-solving skills is a MUST
• Ability to develop, maintain, and strengthen collaborative partnerships both internally and externally
• Manages multiple priorities effectively in a high volume, fast paced environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with team members, other departments, and external stakeholders
• Procurement Related Certification a plus
