Maintenance Technician

This is a full performance level maintenance position at Sewerage & Water Board's Facilities Maintenance Division. An individual performs a variety of skilled construction, maintenance and repair tasks including pipe fitting, carpentry, meter repair and installations, and repairs to pump systems and stations. Assigned tasks increase in scope and difficulty as the incumbent demonstrates the ability to perform the full-range of duties respective of this class; and related work as required.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalency diploma and a valid driver's license. Either 24 months of construction or building maintenance experience or 24 months of construction or building maintenance experience with 12 months as a Utilities Maintenance Technician or 12 months construction or building maintenance experience as a Utilities Maintenance Trainee II with requisite training in welding, electrical, and/or mechanical fields. A letter from the appointing authority certifying applicant's experience and training in the required field is also required.
