Job Overview:
Under direction of facility management, the Production Technician will be responsible for a variety of complex operations and duties in the production facility. The Production Technician will be responsible for operating a steam-methane reforming (SMR) facility while meeting all safety, environmental, corporate, efficiency and production requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Obtain knowledge required to operate and troubleshoot the various types of equipment associated with Steam Methane Reformers.
- Top fired heater
- Reactors
- High pressure steam system
- Pressure swing adsorption unit.
- Pumps and compressors
- Analytical equipment
- Drums and knockout pots
- Cooling water system
- Instrument air system.
- Flare operations.
- H2 Product delivery
- Monitor the Process. This includes making rounds, completing reading sheets, water sampling and ensuring environmental permit limit and process limits are adhered to.
- Learn how to identify hazards, safe out equipment, and write safe work permits.
- Learn the importance of Housekeeping.
- Work shift work and cover overtime when needed.

- Effectively communicate with fellow operators, technicians, engineers, and managers
- Adhere to all Corporate and Plant policies.
- Maintain the highest degree of personal safety, and environmental accountability at all-times.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping.
- Participate in daily and monthly safety and production meetings.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Willingness to progress into a process operator position.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Ability to work from heights.
